SS-31 Peptide for Sale: 50 mg Price, COA and What to Check Before You Order

Research use only. Peptides supplied by Peptryn are sold strictly for in vitro and preclinical laboratory research. They are not approved by the FDA for human or veterinary use, and nothing here is medical advice, a dosing recommendation, or an instruction for self-administration. This page explains what Peptryn’s SS-31 listing includes and how to check any SS-31 vial.
Quick answer: Peptryn sells SS-31 (elamipretide) as a 50 mg lyophilized research vial for $149.99, which is $3.00 per mg. Lot 2026-08-05 reads 99.75% HPLC purity with a negative endotoxin result, tested by MZ Biolabs, and the certificate links to a report on the lab’s own site. An FDA-approved elamipretide drug exists for one rare condition, and a research vial is not that drug. Peptryn sells SS-31 only for laboratory research, to buyers who are 21 or older.
This page covers the buying side: the price, what the certificate shows and leaves out, and the checks that matter for SS-31. For the research and the approval story, read our SS-31 guide.
Key takeaways
- The 50 mg vial lists at $149.99 ($3.00 per mg). Quantity pricing takes 3%, 5% or 10% off.
- Lot 2026-08-05 reads 99.75% purity and negative endotoxin. The purity and identity record sits on MZ Biolabs’ own site.
- In our September data report the lab measured 45.70 mg against the 50 mg label (-8.6%), the lowest of the 21 components in that report. It is one lot from one lab.
- FDA approved one elamipretide drug for Barth syndrome in September 2025. That approval does not cover research vials or any other use.
Last verified October 12, 2026. Prices and lot details are as listed on that date and change with each batch, so check the product page and certificate before you rely on a number. Sources are listed at the end. For laboratory and research use only. Nothing here is medical or legal advice.

SS-31 price: what to compare
At the listed price, the 50 mg vial costs $3.00 per mg. Price per mg compares two sellers only when the products match. Line up these before you compare:
- Size and form. A 10 mg vial and a 50 mg vial are different purchases, and wholesale lots sold by the kit are a different category again.
- Salt form. Free base, acetate and hydrochloride forms differ in weight, so a certificate should say which one is in the vial.
- Lot and lab. A price with no lot-matched report gives you a number and no verification.
- What the report covers. Purity, identity, endotoxin and quantity are separate results.
Approved drug or research vial

SS-31 is another name for elamipretide. On September 19, 2025, FDA granted accelerated approval to Forzinity (elamipretide HCl), made by Stealth BioTherapeutics, for Barth syndrome in patients weighing at least 30 kg. The approval covers that one indication.
A research vial differs in four ways. It has no approval for any use. FDA did not review its manufacturing, labeling or evidence. No human dosing has been established for it. Its quality proof is a batch certificate that the buyer has to check. Our SS-31 guide covers the approval in detail.
What the SS-31 certificate shows and leaves out
| Question | What the certificate shows |
|---|---|
| Method | HPLC-UV-MS |
| Purity | 99.75% |
| Endotoxin | Negative |
| Where the records sit | The purity and identity record is on MZ Biolabs’ own site and linked by a QR code on the certificate. The endotoxin report is a PDF shown on the certificate page |
| Quantity and mass | The lab report prints a measured quantity per vial (45.70 mg against the 50 mg label) and the expected and measured monoisotopic mass (639.39 Da and 639.43 Da). It does not state the salt form |
SS-31’s structure includes a D-amino acid and a non-natural residue, which HPLC purity alone cannot verify. Identity by mass spectrometry matters, and the free base should show a mass near 639.8 Da. Open the lab’s report to see what it lists.
Our September 2026 data report read the lab’s report for this lot and listed the measured quantity. The lab reported 45.70 mg of SS-31 against a 50 mg label, a difference of -8.6%. That was the lowest figure among the 21 components in the report, and only two measured below their labels. The result comes from one lot, from one laboratory, without a stated assay uncertainty. The report lists open questions, including whether a quantity figure is net peptide content or the gross contents of the vial.
Five checks for any SS-31 vial

- Which form is it? Free base, acetate or hydrochloride. The salt form changes the weight, so it should be stated.
- Does the lot match? Compare the lot on your vial with the lot on the report, and check that the analysis date fits the lot date.
- Is the report on the lab’s own site? A link or QR code to the lab’s record beats a PDF that lives only on the seller’s server. Our third-party tested peptides guide sorts these claims into five levels.
- Which tests are listed? Identity by mass spectrometry, purity, endotoxin and quantity are different tests. Each one missing is a gap, and our certificate guide shows how to read them.
- How does the seller describe use? A research listing makes no promises about energy, aging or recovery and gives no dosing schedule. See are peptides legal? for background.
Why SS-31 search results look so mixed
A search for “ss-31 peptide for sale” on October 12, 2026 returned a reagent supplier, research-peptide shops and a factory wholesale listing. The shops list 10 mg and 50 mg vials, and the sizes and prices differ a great deal.
Peptryn’s listing is a laboratory research material. It is not the approved drug, and Peptryn does not offer it for human use.
Common questions
Where can I buy SS-31 for research?
Peptryn sells SS-31 as a 50 mg lyophilized research peptide on its SS-31 product page. It is sold only for laboratory research, to buyers who are 21 or older and who confirm qualified research use.
How much does SS-31 cost?
Peptryn lists the 50 mg vial at $149.99, which is $3.00 per mg. Quantity pricing takes 3% off at 3 to 4 units, 5% at 5 to 9 and 10% at 10 or more. Prices change, so check the product page.
Is Peptryn’s SS-31 third-party tested?
Yes. Lot 2026-08-05 was tested by MZ Biolabs, which reports 99.75% HPLC purity and a negative endotoxin result. The purity and identity record is on the lab’s own site, and Peptryn is the client that ordered the test.
Is SS-31 the same as elamipretide?
SS-31 is another name for elamipretide. FDA approved one elamipretide drug, Forzinity, for Barth syndrome in September 2025. A research vial is not that drug and has no approval.
Is SS-31 FDA approved?
Only the drug Forzinity is, for Barth syndrome. SS-31 sold as a research material has no approval for any use.
Does the SS-31 certificate show the quantity per vial?
Yes. The lab report on the certificate page prints a measured quantity per vial. Our September data report recorded a measured quantity of 45.70 mg against the 50 mg label (-8.6%) for this lot.
How is SS-31 stored?
Per the Peptryn product specification, store the lyophilized powder at -20 °C, protected from light and repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
What is the difference between SS-31 and MOTS-c?
They are unrelated. SS-31 is a synthetic four-residue peptide that binds cardiolipin. MOTS-c is a natural 16-residue peptide encoded in mitochondrial DNA. See our MOTS-c guide. The MOTS-c buying page covers that listing.
