Description

Sermorelin is a synthetic 29-amino-acid peptide representing the biologically active N-terminal fragment of endogenous growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH 1-29). As the shortest GHRH fragment retaining full biological activity at the pituitary GHRH receptor, sermorelin has been extensively studied in growth hormone secretion research, pituitary biology, and somatotroph function models across a wide range of preclinical applications.

Preclinical research has investigated sermorelin’s ability to stimulate somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary to release growth hormone in a pulsatile, physiological manner. Studies have explored its dose-response relationship with GH release, its regulation of IGF-1 expression in rodent models, its influence on body composition and lean mass in GH-deficient animal models, and its safety profile compared to exogenous GH administration.
