Description

Epitalon (also spelled Epithalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide bioregulator with the sequence Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, originally derived from research into the pineal gland peptide epithalamin. Developed through decades of research in bioregulator peptide science, Epitalon has become one of the most studied longevity-associated research peptides, with preclinical investigations spanning telomere biology, circadian rhythm regulation, antioxidant defence, and neuroendocrine function.

Preclinical research into Epitalon has explored its ability to activate telomerase in somatic cells — a mechanism proposed to underlie its potential effects on cellular lifespan and aging markers. Animal studies have also investigated its regulation of pineal melatonin secretion and circadian rhythm restoration in aged models, its antioxidant properties and reduction of oxidative stress markers, and its influence on immune function, tumour suppression, and gene expression in aging tissues. Epitalon is frequently cited as one of the most important peptides in bioregulator and geroscience research.
